Savannah’s Newborn Shoot { Frederick MD Newborn Photography }

I can’t believe my little lovey is already 4 weeks old today! Savannah Grace entered our world and forever changed our lives on January 2nd, 2017.  She weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces (after pooping twice all over mommy! I’m confident she would have been an 8 pound baby had she just controlled herself!) and was 20 1/4 inches long.  We have loved getting to know our little Savannah and I’m already lamenting how much she has changed in just four short weeks! Everyone says that time flies when you have kids and they weren’t kidding. I blame a large part of it on the sleep deprivation that has led us to lose track of the days and time in general. (A couple days after she was born Brent had to ask the cashier at Subway what day of the week it was so he could order their daily special.  Such is parenthood!) That said, Brent and I have been incredibly blessed with a very sweet girl who rarely cries other than when she’s hungry or has a dirty diaper.  I tell everyone that I’m very thankful she seems to have gotten Brent’s personality who tends to be the more content, calm, patient, and laid back member of our relationship.   My mom assures me that I was a much more difficult baby than Savannah!

As a photographer I brainstormed ideas for her newborn shoot for months.  I had many lofty ideas but then something strange happened; I had a baby and afterward had little interest in anything other than sleeping and staring at my little darling.  The times when she did sleep the last thing I felt like doing was embarking on a 2 – 3 hour newborn photoshoot, especially if I ended up waking her up in the process!  Having to maintain a somewhat squatting position while taking those pictures also was physically impossible for the first couple of weeks.  Consequently, Savannah didn’t get her newborn shoot until day 16 – 6 days after the latest day you’re supposed to do newborn pictures.  I didn’t get as many different poses as I would like, but I still love all of the images because she’s my daughter so naturally I think she’s the cutest thing on this planet.  I promise there will be another blog coming soon of our “lifestyle” newborn shoot, but for now I thought I’d leave you with some favorites of our little cutie!

I love her squishy face 🙂 Savannah thinks she’s a gangsta. I told her the flower headband wasn’t helping her case but she wouldn’t listen.
Savannah’s a little annoyed that she hasn’t gotten to see any major snow yet since coming into the world, so she’s hopeful that maybe this snowman outfit will encourage the weather to cooperate!

One last photo to prove just how smart our little girl 😉

We love you Savannah!  Can’t wait for many photoshoots to come!

    When her eyes are close she looks like you but when they are open she looks like Brent. She definitely has his eyes!!
