Gorgeous Canoe Engagement Shoot – Annapolis Maryland Wedding Photographer
I can’t believe it’s been six months since Rachel of Rachell Kendall Events and I put together this gorgeous canoe engagement shoot. I would have loved to blog this earlier, but between submitting for publications, waiting to get published on Baltimore Bride, and then allowing a grace time after the publication, I’ve had to wait this long to be able to blog. This canoe engagement shoot was literally a dream come true for me. I met Rachel at a Vintage Happy Hour event for wedding professionals and shared with her my vision to create an elegant picnic and canoe styled shoot. I was thrilled when Rachel saw my vision and decided to join me in planning it! She reached out to a number of incredible vendors and together we created my favorite shoot of all time!
I also have to say a huge thank you to my models, Sophia and JD who are a real couple, just not engaged yet. Sophia was actually a Spanish student of mine and her family and I have kept in touch ever since. I thought of Sophia and JD very early on into creating this shoot and was so excited when they agreed to model for me. High school lovebirds, these two are adorable together and to top it off, the shoot was perfect for them as they’ve both talked about wanting to one day own a property with a dock and pond.
I hope you love the following images as much as I do, and I encourage you to view the talented work of the many vendors who made my dream a reality! They’re all incredible to work with and will make your wedding day a dream come true. Brides, if you don’t have a planner yet, seriously look no further than Rachel who is incredibly organized and just fun to spend time with!

As excited as I was about the picnic and canoe, what had me literally jumping with joy was the insanely gorgeous light being filtered through this tree. As a photographer, I am always chasing after beautiful light and can’t get over how perfectly it highlighted Sophia and JD.
For the picnic set-up, we wanted to keep the light and elegant look without going too rustic or over-the-top.
