Jeff & Danielle’s beautiful Frederick, Maryland country wedding was as personal as they come. Danielle got ready in what was soon to be her bedroom, her and Jeff shared vows in the front lawn of Jeff’s home, and they celebrated their reception at a nearby barn on Jeff’s property. I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Jeff’s daughter and son-in-law – Ashley & Chris – two years ago and so I was looking forward to reconnecting with them and the rest of their family. I was also hoping that Jeff and Danielle would share in Chris and Ashley’s luck when it came to weather. Both weddings had thunderstorms predicted to occur all day, and both weddings ended up having beautiful weather for the ceremony and portraits with perfectly timed thunderstorms that didn’t at all interfere with the day.  Jeff had requested that I provide a rainbow like Chris and Ashley miraculously got on their wedding day, and while I sadly wasn’t able to come through, they did end up getting a beautiful pink sunset despite the thunderstorm that had ended just minutes earlier!  Danielle and I were both praying like crazy women all day that the rain would hold off, and at one point we both found ourselves at the same time thanking God for providing us with beautiful weather 🙂

Jeff and Danielle met through mutual friends and soon found themselves running into each other all the time at various events. (Danielle admits they both were hoping that would happen each time they attended an event!) Finally, Jeff asked Danielle out and Danielle soon became a part of their family. Jeff’s youngest daughter gave a beautiful toast at the reception and it was obvious how much she loved Danielle and how perfect of a fit she was for Jeff’s family.  Jeff proposed in front of all of their closest friends and family at their annual Christmas dinner at Dutch’s Daughter and Danielle of course said yes!

Danielle and Jeff held their wedding reception in their own, working barn and did an incredible job decorating it. I loved that they left the hay bails and I know Jeff spent hours hanging all of the gorgeous twinkle lights! The results were truly spectacular. 

It started raining literally as soon as we got to the reception and stopped just minutes before sunset! I still figured it would be dark and overcast only to step outside and see this sunset! Looks like crazy yet perfect wedding weather runs in the family 🙂

Congratulations Danielle & Jeff, I am so happy for you two! You are an awesome couple and I’ve loved getting to know your family 🙂
