Annapolis Engagement Photos
Jennifer and Bobby met at a college Christmas party hosted by a mutual friend. Bobby pursued her, but after a bout with the flu and a lackluster first date looking at Christmas lights, Jennifer nearly moved on. Thankfully, Bobby convinced Jennifer to visit him for his New Years Eve party, where they really hit it off and the rest was history. These two will now be tying the knot in one month for a beautiful Springfield Manor wedding, and I’m excited to finally get to photograph my first full wedding since COVID! I’m also so excited that we were able to fit in this quick downtown Annapolis engagement shoot before their actual wedding. We had previously planned to take their Annapolis engagement pictures in the spring, but the quarantine had other plans. Eventually we decided to split their engagement shoot into two: a quick 1 hour session downtown to get some beautiful Annapolis engagement photos right where Bobby proposed, and another hour shoot after their wedding in the fall when the temps are a bit more enjoyable.
For their downtown Annapolis engagement photos, I met Jennifer and Bobby at the Maryland State house and the golden light there was absolutely beautiful.
From there, we headed down a few side streets on our way to the Annapolis waterfront and I fell in love with that cute blue row home with the dark blue shutters.
While Bobby and Jennifer got changed, I took a minute to photograph Jenn’s beautiful engagement ring. I love how this backdrop perfectly matched Jenn’s second dress!
When we got to the Annapolis waterfront, we were shocked to find it so crowded for a COVID Tuesday night. We had to hunt for awhile to finally find a spot where they could stand that didn’t have people right next to them. (Actually, there was a lone teenager fishing about 6 feet from them – don’t worry we social distanced – so I just photoshopped him out of the pictures haha.) The whole time I was watching with glee as the color in the sky turned pink and I was so happy we were able to grab a few pictures of Jennifer and Bobby against the beautiful pink sky before it faded back to blue.
Congratulations Jennifer and Bobby! I’m so thankful we were able to fit in this shoot before your Springfield Manor wedding, and I can’t wait to photograph your special day in under a month!!
