Three months ago, Kayla reached out to me and indicated her desire to have maternity pictures taken in Northern VA. Due to the quarantine, she hadn’t been able to share the majority of her pregnancy with her family who live in the south, and she wanted a maternity shoot to commemorate this special time of her life. The only problem was that I had been shut down due to Covid, and Kayla was due July 2nd. Thankfully, when Kayla was just shy of 36 weeks pregnant, I received permission to start shooting again and we scheduled her maternity shoot three days later at Belmont Country Club where her husband, Matt, works. Kayla positively glowed and looked just stunning showing off her baby bump. She brought her own gown and also wore my Brittany gown in royal blue and my Isolde gown by Sew Trendy Accessories in ivory. Their little boy, John Thomas, should be here in a couple weeks and I am just so happy for Kayla and Matt as they embark on the wonderful journey that is parenthood.

I’m always on the lookout for good light and it can sometimes be found in the oddest places. What you can’t see is this tree is literally a foot away from the bathroom and I’m standing in a bunch of bushes next to the bathroom trying to get the right angle for the shot haha.
