Now that I have finally entered the “slow season” in the life of a wedding photographer (aka that time when it’s so freezing out that no one wants to take pictures) I’m catching up on a few photo shoots I didn’t have time to blog this past season. Up first is a stunning styled shoot I had the opportunity to photograph at the brand new Bowling Brook Mansion wedding venue. Located in Keymar, MD just a quick 30 minute drive from Frederick, Bowling Brook has quickly become one of my favorite Frederick wedding venues. Built in 1872, the mansion has recently been elegantly restored and let me tell you, it is gorgeous! Featuring a stunning ballroom, rooftop patio, acres of land with a pond, woods, a rustic barn, and beautiful open fields, it’s a photographer’s dream.

Bowling Brook Mansion just opened for the fall 2019 wedding season, and to showcase their new venue we decided it would be fun to do a styled shoot around their property. We joined forces with Stacy from Chantilly Design and Events who masterfully orchestrated the entire styled shoot from creating the vision board, to providing the gorgeous Casablanca gown, to designing the different tablescapes, to creating all of the gorgeous florals.  Pins-N-Brushes provided the hair and makeup, and Brushfoot Paintworks rounded it out by providing the vintage rentals. The end results were beautiful and I’m so excited to share them with you!

This bridal suite may be my favorite part of Bowling Brook mansion wedding venue. I love the vintage furniture, the huge windows, and the gorgeous paint color they chose.

I’m in love with their grand staircase. Didn’t Stacy do an incredible job decorating it??

This is the upstairs hallway that leads into the bridal suite and the other bedrooms that guests can rent. I love that even if it’s a rainy day there are so many pretty indoor locations with natural light for gorgeous photo ops.

This was my first time seeing a moon gate wedding arch and I love how Stacy decorated it. For the ceremony location, we chose to have it in the woods for a little more of a natural look that tied in beautifully with the moon arch. However, there’s also an option to have it in front of a pond, out in the open fields, near the barn, you name it. The options are endless!

This beautiful wooded path may be my second favorite part of Bowling Brook Mansion. I love the trees with their oversized branches which give it a bit of a southern flair.

If you’re looking for pictures that are a little more rustic, there’s plenty of cornfields around and an old barn full of character that is just stunning when the sun sets!
