Oh man, this snow maternity shoot is just making my heart sing! As soon as I purchased my wine “Bree Gown” from Sew Trendy Accessories, I was hoping to be able to photograph it in the snow. Mallory also loved the idea of a snow maternity shoot, but neither of us were too keen on doing a Frederick maternity shoot when the high was only 20 degrees. Thankfully, last week it snowed on Friday and Saturday was in the high 40s so we were able to do a photoshoot without freezing to death! The blue gown (which I’m now referring to as the “Mallory Gown” after this momma who so clearly rocked it) was a last minute addition to the shoot. I was afraid the bright blue would look too summery against the snow, but I was completely wrong. In fact, I may like it in the snow more than even the Bree Gown! As a dancer and a previous pageant competitor, Mallory was a dream to work with. She’s due with a little boy in early May and we had a lot of fun chatting nursery themes, swapping pregnancy woes, and sharing in our overall excitement to have a little boy enter our homes in just a few weeks. It was such an honor getting to photograph Mallory and help her feel like the beautiful snow queen she is 🙂 I hope you enjoy these Frederick Maryland maternity pictures as much as I do, and for more info about my maternity program please head here.

The lighting was so beautiful for these maternity pictures. Maternity shoots are typically an hour long and I schedule them specifically during golden hour so we can capture gorgeous light like in the images below.

Mallory brought along lipstick to perfectly match this gown. She is a girl after my own heart! 

I have been blessed lately with some beautiful pink winter sunsets!

I still would love to do a maternity shoot when its actually snowing, but let’s be real. I drive a Camry, I’m 34 weeks pregnant with a toddler to boot, and I hate the bitter cold. So until I get a beautiful snowy day where the roads are easily drivable and the temperature is miraculously in the 40s, I’ll have to make due with photoshop!
