DC Cherry Blossoms Photoshoot
It certainly doesn’t feel like spring today, but this weekend was gorgeous! We went to see the DC cherry blossoms and every time I go I find myself thinking how blessed I am to live so close to our beautiful capitol! We had a lot of fun walking around the whole tidal basin and checking out our favorite monuments. My sisters Gretchen and Grace joined us as well as Grace’s husband Jason. This was Jason’s first time in DC and he couldn’t have picked a better day for it. I’ve always wanted to do a cherry blossom photoshoot so while I was there I talked Grace and Jason into posing for a few quick images which we had to strategically capture despite the constant stream of tourists. If you’re ever interested in a DC cherry blossoms photoshoot let’s do it! But I would strongly recommend getting up early and arriving for sunrise so you can have the whole place to yourself.
This is my sister Gretchen who also served as my talented photographer when it came to getting pictures of Savannah and I.
What you can’t see is Savannah is currently very upset that I’m not letting her walk/jump into the tidal basin. Her face is turned away from the camera for a reason haha. Savannah did have a lot of fun running around and looking at all the fountains in the WWII memorial.
Savannah’s still not particularly feeling it hahaha. Side note: she literally held onto that french fry for over 45 minutes!
Thankfully with a little coaching we got some smiles out of her and these next two images are some of my favorite pictures of us together of all time. Thanks Gretchen!
Poor Jason, try as he might Savannah at best only tolerates him. We think it must be the beard since he’s the only person Savannah sees frequently who has one. Note the french fry…
We got home to find Brent landscaping around our mailbox. Savannah loves being Daddy’s little helper and insisted on helping dig out the flower bed. Her dress was already filthy so I didn’t mind. I love these pictures of the two of them!
Happy spring from our little family!
