Musket Ridge Wedding – Alex & Lauren
Alex and Lauren’s wedding was a series of firsts for Brent and I. It was the first Penn State themed wedding we ever photographed (or attended for that matter) and let me just say, they rocked their theme! It was also the first wedding we photographed where the bride seemed more nervous about the Penn State vs. Ohio State score than actually getting married! It was the first time we had the privilege of photographing a Musket Ridge wedding, and let me just tell you this venue is gorgeous! (Musket Ridge’s food is also incredible, mashed potato bar? Yes please!) Finally, it was the first wedding I photographed where I didn’t actually meet the bride in person until her wedding day.
Lauren moved to Texas soon after their engagement, and Alex was left with the task of doing the majority of the wedding planning before he joined her two weeks later. I just need to give Alex some mad props here because few grooms would willingly bear the brunt of the wedding planning! Because of their distance, an engagement shoot wasn’t an option so while we chatted a number of times on the phone, it wasn’t until Saturday morning that I finally had the privilege of meeting Lauren.
Let’s talk about Lauren, shall we? She is fun, beautiful, vivacious, has great hair, and is so in love with her man! Alex and Lauren compliment each other perfectly. They met at Penn State University which is where their relationship began. Given their shared love for all things Penn State, a themed wedding fit them perfectly. I am a huge fan of themes and wish more brides would do them! They make the wedding day a little more unique and special to the couple and can still be done very tastefully.
It makes me so happy that Lauren chose to sport customized Penn State TOMS.
I think it makes me even happier that her wedding band is made out of sapphires!
Love the navy and white dresses with the complimenting sashes and bouquets!
Checking the score minutes before heading down the aisle!
You can learn a lot about a couple by the people they surround themselves with, and if Alex and Lauren’s bridal party is any indicator then this couple is awesome! I’m pretty sure Brent was best friends with all the groomsmen by the time the wedding was over and I loved getting to meet Lauren’s bridesmaids.
The Catoctin Hall at Musket Ridge was beautiful, and I loved all the personalized Penn State touches.
It was evident from the father-daughter dance where Lauren gets some of her personality from!
Apparently Penn State didn’t get the memo that they were supposed to win that night…
Congratulations again, Lauren and Alex! Your Penn State themed Musket Ridge wedding was beautiful!! (Just sorry about that final score!)
