Paris Engagement Shoot {Destination Wedding Photographer}
This summer I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Paris for a five day photography workshop with renowned photographer Scott Robert Lim. I had never done anything like this and found myself both excited and incredibly nervous as the course crept up. As soon as I stepped into the apartment where we met every morning for class, my nerves were put at ease. Scott was incredibly warm and welcoming, as were all of the photographers in attendance. By the end of the week we felt more like a family than just a group of professionals, and I’ve since enjoyed seeing each of us grow and expand with our new knowledge!
I plan on dedicating a separate blog for each day of the course, but for starters I wanted to share a photoshoot we did with a London couple, Sinead and Adrian. This sweet couple got engaged in Paris earlier in the year and happily returned when their wedding photographer, Amanda Foreman, reached out to them about being a model couple for the workshop. I loved how these two were just adorable together (and were absolute naturals in front of the camera!). It was a great experience helping to brainstorm different poses and lighting techniques with Amanda and photographer Lisa Derevycka, both of whom I spent a lot of time working with throughout the week. Sinead and Adrian joined us our first night at the Pont Alexandre III (Alexander Bridge) and couldn’t have had a more beautiful spot or evening for their Paris Engagement shoot.
The next day, Amanda, Lisa, and I took Sinead and Adrian back to the restaurant they dined at after getting engaged. We tried to recreate that moment right down to the amazing bottle of champagne they ordered! This was my first time photographing in a restaurant and it was definitely challenging but the three of us took turns holding each other’s lights, equipment, etc. and I’m really happy with how this shoot came out. I’m already brainstorming ways I could do something similar in Downtown Frederick!
After the shoot we stopped in this alley to get one last image in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower 🙂
A huge thank you to Amanda and Lisa for letting me tag along with you for your restaurant engagement shoot, and congrats to Sinead and Adrian on your engagement and wedding!
